Luís Miguel Mendonça Rato holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. He has been part of the Department of Informatics and a professor at the University of Évora since November 1999. He conducts research in machine learning, data mining, and image processing. Vítor Beires Nogueira holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from University of Évora. He has been part of the department of Computer Science since 1998. Presently the Pro-Rector for Digital Transformation and Open Science . His research in the field of Artificial Intelligence includes Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Logic Programming and Ontologies and recently Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Knowledge Graphs and incorporation of AI in the fields like IoT.

Pedro Salgueiro is an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the School of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Évora. Currently is the director of the Computer Science Department. He holds a PhD in Informatics by University of Évora in the area of Declarative Programming applied to Computer Network Security. His research interests include Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Network Security, Declarative Programming and Constraint Programming.

João Cardoso is a research fellow on the project “SenForFire: Cost-Effective Wireless Sensor Networks for Forest Fire Prevention and Early Detection” and a PhD student.
